Unification bout between Volkanovski and Rodriguez to be held July 8 at UFC 290

The unification bout for the UFC featherweight belt between current champion of the division Alex Volkanovski and interim champion Yair Rodriguez will take place on July 8 at UFC 290. It was reported by Fox Sports Australia.

Volkanovski, 34, lost his last fight at UFC 284 in February 2023 to lightweight champion Islam Makhachev by unanimous decision. He has 25 wins and two losses under his belt.

Rodriguez, 30, defeated Josh Emmett by submission (triangle choke) in the second round at UFC 284 in February. He has 17 wins and three losses on his record.
