UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski talked about his upcoming fight with UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev on February 12 at UFC 284 in Perth, Australia.

I respect Islam, he's a fighter of the highest level. Am I considered an outsider? That's okay, and I certainly don't think so myself. I have chances to beat Islam, and I'll use them all.
Volkanovski, 34, last stepped into the Octagon against Max Holloway in June at UFC 276. Alex won that fight by unanimous decision. In April, 2022, at UFC 273, Volkanovski defeated Jung Chan-sung by TKO in the fourth round. He has 25 wins and one loss under his belt.
