UFC featherweight champion Alex Volkanovski said he's ready for a rematch with lightweight division champion Islam Makhachev on October 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi.

The Islam rematch needs to happen. Would I fight Makhachev in Abu Dhabi? Yes, I'm ready to fight anyone and anywhere. I was gonna be the backup over there in his fight with Charles Oliveira , with short notice, you know, broken hands... I'm obviously not afraid of a challenge.
Remember, the fight between Alex Volkanovski and Islam Makhachev, which took place in February, 2023, at UFC 284, finished with the victory of the Russian fighter by unanimous decision of judges.
Volkanovski will fight another UFC featherweight interim champion, Yair Rodriguez, on July 8 at UFC 290.
