UFC President Dana White has spoken out about the criticism of his Power Slap promotion. Many martial arts fans have called this type of fighting inhumane and involving injury.

We only work with athletes whose conditioning we pre-screen. In this league, athletes are slapped three to five times during the contest. Boxing fighters throw three hundred or four hundred punches per fight. If you don't like it, then don't watch, damn it. Nobody's asking you to watch.
White's Power Slap took place on January 18 and was broadcast on TBS. Dana's tournament might not have happened, because the network removed the event from the broadcast grid due to the UFC president's incident with his wife on New Year's Eve.
Recall, Anne and Dana White had a fight in one of the nightclubs in Mexico. The wife slapped Dana, after which he slapped her several times in the face back before their friends separated them.
