Parisian Railway Workers Protest Against 2024 Olympics

Railway workers held a protest against the Olympic Games next to the Eiffel Tower in Paris, demanding bonuses for their work during the sporting event.

The protesters gathered at Trocadero square with a banner that read "No Olympic Games without railway workers" and lit flares.

Due to the strike in Paris, train services on the REP lines and suburban trains have been disrupted. Workers plan to exert pressure on authorities ahead of the Olympics. Unions claim that employees will not be able to take leave in August due to increased workload.

The Summer Olympic Games 2024 in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11, with the participation of 206 National Olympic Committees and a refugee team. A total of 329 sets of medals will be contested in 32 sports.
