Brazilian UFC light heavyweight fighter Thiago Santos shared his opinion on the upcoming fight with Russian Magomed Ankalaev in an exclusive interview with MMA.Metaratings.ru.
I know Magomed Ankalaev is a very strong fighter. He's a good striker and he also wrestles at a high level, but I'm ready for him anyway. I use different training camps and different ways of preparing for each opponent, and therefore I do every fight a new way. I will try to surprise Magomed. I think that the victory will bring me closer to the championship title again, and I am ready to get back on track.
Ankalaev had his last fight against the Swiss Volkan Ozdemir in October 2021 as part of the UFC 267 tournament. The Russian fighter won by unanimous decision.
Santos last entered the octagon against his compatriot Johnny Walker in October last year as part of the UFC Fight Night 193 tournament. This fight ended in favor of Thiago by unanimous decision.
Magomed Ankalaev has 16 victories and one defeat in mixed martial arts. Thiago Santos has 22 wins and nine losses.
