The Olympic village in Tokyo has been revealed to the press by the organisers of the Olympic Games. The representatives of different media were given a tour of the village where athletes will live during the games. Its area is about 5,000 square-meter and it can accommodate up to 18,000 athletes and staff at the same time. The logistics crew managed to put a clinic, a bank, a canteen, a cafe, a post office, and a general store all in that area. There are three major venues on site: operations zone, large residential zone, and a place where all athletes can gather - the village plaza. The expectations are that the Olympic athletes will arrive five days before their competition takes place and leave the village two days after the end of their Olympic participation. Paralympic athletes can, however, arrive up to seven days prior to their disciplines. The official opening of the Olympic village is due to July 13, 2021. The Olympic Games are set to begin ten days later, on July 23, 2021, and are expected to come to an end by August 8, 2021.
