Westley Unseld Jr. has to work with what he has, and the Capitals rarely sign players specifically for any kind of system. Kyle Kuzma and Kristaps Porzingis are talented players, and Denis Avida, Corey Kispert, Johnny Davis, and Rui Hachimura have potential. Still, the team is in 10th place in the NL East. So far, the Wizards are going 12th, and they recently missed out on Chicago.

Last night against the Clippers, Washington played without Bradley Beal, Monte Morris, Will Barton, Rui Hachimura, and Delon Wright, forcing all five players, including Jordan Goodwin, to spend at least 37 minutes on the floor. Kristaps Porzingis and Kyle Kuzma scored 30 and 35 points, respectively, but the Wizards still lost (107:121).

Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn has won 7 of its last eight games, securing fourth place in the Eastern Conference. It seemed as if all of the strongest players would be back in time for the recent game against Indiana, but apparently, the coaching staff decided to give almost all of the key players a rest. Ben Simmons, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Durant, Royce O'Neale, Seth Curry, Joe Harris, and Nicholas Claxton never showed up, and the Nets won anyway with a 136:133 win over the Pacers. Four players scored at least 20 points in that game: Day'ron Sharpe, Patty Mills, Edmond Sumner, and Cam Thomas. Thomas had one of the most outstanding performances of his career: 13 of his 20 made field-goal attempts were accurate and converted into 33 points.

Brooklyn beat Washington twice this season, and the meetings were not very productive. Right now, the Metropolitan club is a pathetic sight on defense. Almost all of the Net's starting five should be back for the game against the Wizards, and the most crucial role players have recovered from injuries. With Kyrie Irving in the lineup, the club from New York is less reliable in their half, and the home team's leaders are in good shape to try to outscore the Nets.
