In the first match of the summer qualifying program, Armenia hosted Wales and played a terrific game. The Armenians were the first to concede at the start of the game but took a 2:1 lead at half-time and increased their lead midway through the second half. Before the loss to Turkey, Latvia had lost to Wales, 0:1, in March.

Latvia is the unpleasantly unstoppable opponent. In the previous World Cup 2022 qualifying, the team lost only one away game in five, mainly drawing such strong contenders as Norway, Montenegro, and Turkey. Therefore, no matter how good the Armenian team looks under Aleksandr Petrakov, we won't count on them winning the upcoming game. It will be better to look at the goals that are likely to be scored by either side. Once again, with Coach Petrakov, the Armenians are prioritizing attacking play. Latvia, too, has been playing a more productive game. So we'll bet on a high number of goals.
