Toulouse vs OGC Nice Prediction, Betting Tips and Odds | 03 MARCH 2024

Toulouse are back in action once again and this time they take on another top table team, OGC Nice. They had LOSC Lille on their heels in the last match and Toulouse got a very good win against a top LOSC Lille team. Now they hope to do the same against OGC Nice.

OGC Nice have not been much of a team lately. No one expected them to stay on top for very long, but no one expected them to fall so badly either. It will be a tough test for Nice against Toulouse, especially with the confidence in the Toulouse team right now. Either way, this is a game that neither of the two teams will want to lose.

Toulouse have struggled in the Ligue 1 for some time and to see them slowly picking up wins is such a relief for the fans. They were dealt a blow in the Europa League after failing to beat Benfica in the return leg. That meant, their Europa League journey had come to an end and now they can go back to fighting for survival in the Ligue 1.

Toulouse dreams of an European spot to say the least but at the moment they are just in 11th place on the table and there's 10 points between them and the Conference League.

Despite their position, Toulouse deserves a lot of credit. They had beaten AS Monaco and LOSC Lille in their last 2 league games and now they face OGC Nice.

Toulouse coach Carles Martinez was pleased with the display in the 3-1 win over LOSC Lille last weekend. He deployed a 3-4-1-2 formation and the team was able to keep LOSC Lille out for most parts of the game. It was the substitutes that changed the game for Carles Martinez as Vincent Sierro and Thijs Dallinga both scored after coming off the bench. Christian Mawissa also scored a goal in the game.

Looking at the stats of the game, one area that needs improvement is definitely keeping possession. Toulouse had only 32% possession in the game and they might not get lucky against a more clinical team. If Carles Martinez intends to maintain the same set up for the game against OGC Nice, which is most likely, then he will definitely need the players to control more of the game and put the opposition on the back foot.

Oh how the mighty have fallen! OGC Nice are in a very troubled situation and it's hard to see what the reason is for their sudden struggles. They failed to win their last 4 games in the Ligue 1, as they had 2 draws and 2 defeats in those 4 games.

Most recently they drew with Clermont Foot at home, which shows the extent to which OGC Nice are suffering at the moment. The game would have ended in a defeat for OGC Nice, but Marcin Bulka stopped a penalty from going in just before half time. Francesco Farioli deployed a 4-3-3 formation against Clermont Foot but the team failed to turn up and it was a disappointing performance. According to the statistics, OGC Nice had the greater amount of the possession (58%). They also took 4 shots on target and 8 corner kicks. They created 2 big chances but had 0 counter attacking play.

Dante had a particularly poor game. Despite giving away the penalty, he had 0 interceptions, 0 tackles and committed 1 error leading to a shot. He also lost possession of the ball 8 times throughout the game.

There's just a lot that is wrong with the OGC Nice team at the moment and Francesco Farioli will have a tough job on his hands if he intends to keep his team in the top 4. It would be interesting to see how he decides to play the upcoming game. He's more likely to retain the shape but he will need to keep the team motivated for sure, if they intend to get back to winning ways.

According to the h2h, in the last 20 meetings between OGC Nice and Toulouse, Nice have won 8 matches, while Toulouse have won 7 and they drew 5 matches.

The form of the Nice team has to be questioned. The team has talented players within the ranks but at the moment, they seem to be struggling. How Francesco Farioli intends to handle this is still a mystery but he needs to do it fast. As for Toulouse, they believe they can beat OGC Nice and there's a big chance they might after their latest results against AS Monaco and LOSC Lille.

According to the h2h, OGC Nice are unbeaten in the last 6 meetings. There's been less than 2.5 goals scored in 5 of the last 6 meetings and less than 4.5 cards in 9 of the last 10 meetings. There's also been less than 10.5 corners in 6 of the last 8 meetings.
