Augsburg failed to make the start of Bundesliga 2022/23, losing 0:4 at home to Freiburg. In the second leg, however, they made amends when they beat Bayer (2:1) away. Bayer had a significant advantage throughout the meeting, however, this didn't bring them any dividends. Augsburg managed to score twice and win by four shots on goal. Before the start of the third round, they are in ninth place with three points.
Mainz
Mainz started the league season with a 2:1 away win over Bochum, followed by a 0:0 home draw against Union. The match against Union was considered equal, with the Carnival side hitting the net more often, but on the whole, there was a balance. Mainz is in sixth place in the table, with four points and two points behind the leaders Bayern and Dortmund.
Expert Betting Tips
There is no fundamental difference between Mainz and Augsburg, and the Bavarians are unlikely to lose a second successive home game. With all due respect to Mainz, Mainz has never really been a strong away team, and, considering that the Carnival side has already won one away game to start the season, to bet on another one is considered risky.
