Roma beat Germany's Bayer 1:0 on Thursday in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final. Will the Romans be able to recover in time for Sunday's league game against Bologna?

The team has become physically weak towards the end of the league season and, as a result, has been unable to win in five successive fixtures. Bologna, meanwhile, has scored consistently, having suffered only two defeats in this stretch, as they had in their previous nine games in the domestic championship.

Having prioritized international competitions, the Giallorossi have slumped in results in the Italian league, picking up just two points in the previous four rounds. Roma lost at home to Atalanta and Inter in that stretch and drew with AC Milan and Monza.

Roma naturally has their attention focused on the Europa League games at this stage of the season, and therefore the encounter against Bologna is of secondary importance to the Giallorossi. The Red and Blue could be regarded as the clear favorite. Still, Bologna ended the season as a tired side struggling to create chances. We are likely to see something similar from Thiago Motta's team in this game. Roma is unlikely to be able to offer any counterplay due to fatigue after the European Cup match.
