North American journalist and insider for The Athletic, Jovan Buha, has shared insights about the current relationship between star forward LeBron James and the management of the Los Angeles Lakers.
According to Buha, the situation is far from perfect despite the calm atmosphere surrounding the future of the player. He pointed out that there has been no official confirmation of LeBron's staying in the team. Typically, clubs make such announcements when it comes to star players of his caliber, but in this instance, everything has been limited to James's social media posts and his personal statement.
Buha noted that the lack of a clear stance from the organization might indicate tension in the relationship between the player and the club. He cautiously summarized that the situation does not appear particularly amicable at this time.
Earlier, ESPN insider Shams Charania reported that LeBron James has exercised his contract extension option and will play for the Lakers during the 2025/26 season.
Last season, LeBron played 70 games, averaging 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds per game.
It’s worth noting that the upcoming season could mark the 40-year-old basketball star's 23rd in the NBA, setting a new league record for the most seasons played in a career.
