A record-setting trade involving seven teams is being discussed in the NBA, with star forward Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns at the center of the negotiations, as reported by The Athletic.
Originally, the Suns had agreed to trade Durant to the Houston Rockets without involving any other teams. However, both sides are now working to expand the deal. In exchange for Durant, Phoenix has already secured Dillon Brooks, Jalen Green, a first-round pick in the 2025 NBA Draft (the 10th overall), and five second-round picks.
Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, and Minnesota Timberwolves have also joined in on the discussions.
Previously, the record for the number of teams in a trade was set with a six-team deal that saw Klay Thompson move to the Dallas Mavericks in the summer of 2024.
It was also reported that Durant is in discussions with Houston's management about a potential two-year contract extension.
