Catalan football club Barcelona have finalized plans to acquire Athletic Bilbao striker Nico Williams.
According to insider Fabrizio Romano, the Catalan club intends to activate the player's €58 million release clause after the player himself agreed to the move. Barcelona now have a few more stages of negotiations to go through with Williams's agent.
Williams has been playing for Athletic since 2021, and in the 2024/25 season he scored 11 goals and made seven assists in 45 meetings. His contract with his current club runs until the summer of 2027.
