According to ESPN, goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny is prepared to sign a new contract with La Liga club Barcelona.
The deal for the 35-year-old Polish player is expected to last until the end of June 2027. Szczęsny himself is eager to remain with the Catalan team.
On June 14, Sport.es reported that Barcelona will finalize a new contract for the goalkeeper immediately after the transfer of Joan Garcia from Espanyol.
As a reminder, Szczęsny has been with Barcelona since October 2024. In the 2024/2025 season, he has already played 15 matches in La Liga (with eight clean sheets and 12 goals conceded) and eight matches in the UEFA Champions League (with two clean sheets and 17 goals conceded). Transfermarkt estimates Szczęsny at one million euros.
