According to The Guardian, several clubs have endorsed the idea of holding the Club World Cup every two years.
The source reports that Real Madrid are among this group of clubs. The matter regarding the change in the tournament's frequency was raised during a conference in Miami.
It is noted that Real Madrid earned the most from the recent Club World Cup, with 25% of tickets purchased by their fans. Given the club's global reputation, they plan to increase revenue from the tournament.
However, FIFA is not considering reducing the current four-year cycle for the event but is exploring an expansion to 48 teams in 2029.
For context, the last Club World Cup took place in the United States from June 14 to July 13, and Chelsea emerged victorious, defeating PSG 3-0 in the final.
Initially, the tournament featured 32 teams divided into eight groups of four clubs, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the knockout stage.
