The 30-year-old former England international was at home with his partner, Paige Milian, and their two sons when he heard noises upstairs and realized intruders had broken in.
Sterling’s immediate priority was to protect his children, Thiago (8) and Thai-Cruz (6). After ensuring their safety, the footballer reportedly armed himself with a kitchen knife before confronting the burglars directly.
“He grabbed a knife out of a block in the kitchen and went to confront the intruders. It was pure adrenaline, but it worked. There was a group of them upstairs in masks, clearly looking for valuables. They fled as soon as they realized Raheem was home and ready to face them.”

The break-in is said to have taken place around 7 p.m. on Saturday, about an hour before Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge.
A spokesperson for Sterling confirmed the frightening incident, saying:
“We can confirm that Raheem Sterling was the victim of a home break-in this weekend. He and his children were present at the time. While this was a distressing breach of privacy and safety, we are grateful that everyone is safe. We kindly ask for privacy for Raheem and his family during this difficult time.”
This marks the third burglary targeting Sterling in the past seven years, with previous incidents at his properties in Surrey and Cheshire. In 2022, he was forced to withdraw from England’s World Cup squad after burglars broke into his home while his family was inside, prompting an outpouring of support from fans and teammates.
Thames Valley Police confirmed a “thorough investigation” is now underway and urged anyone with information or who noticed suspicious activity in the area to come forward.
“Officers are conducting a detailed investigation and ask anyone who saw anything unusual to contact police
Chelsea FC is said to be aware of the incident and is providing full support to Sterling and his family. The winger has not played for Chelsea since May last year, with his most recent senior appearance coming during a loan spell at Arsenal.
