South African left arm fast bowler Kwena Maphaka has been added to the one-day squad that will play Australia in a three match one-day international series to be played in Cairns and Mackay starting from Tuesday 19 August.

Maphaka stars with ball in the T20’s
Originally only included in the three match T20 international series which South Africa lost 2-1, Maphaka’s performances were rewarded with a call up to the one-day squad.
He took 4 for 20 in the 1st T20I, followed by three for 57 and two for 36 to finish the series as the top wicket taker with nine wickets at an average of 12.55
Captain Bavuma raring to go after a short break
Meanwhile Captain Temba Bavuma, speaking at the pre-match press conference says he is raring to go after a short break.
Ja, it’s been a bit busy back home, kinda getting accustomed I guess to all the appreciation and how I guess things have been a bit different. Also had some time to be just away from the game, get the body strong again but ja, raring to go, looking forward to the games ahead, always good to be in Australia again, ja quite looking forward to the next couple of days.
Bavuma looking forward to seeing the youngsters perform in the one- day format
Bavuma was impressed with the performances by the youngsters in the T20I series and is looking forward to seeing how they perform in the one- day series.
Ja, exciting. Think it’s always exciting when you see the young faces. Obviously the big talk a guy like Brevis you know putting up his hand and showing what he is capable of, so excited to see what he can also bring within the one- day stuff and all the other guys. A guy like Kwena, whose been added to the squad, faces like Lhuan-dre Pretorius getting to understand a little bit better as people, Subrayen as well, he comes into the squad as well, similar to the T20 stuff and a bit of an exploration to see where the guys can really fit in but more importantly what our best looking eleven is.
