Liverpool are the bookmakers' favorites to win the Premier League 2025/26 season after Slot’s side stormed to a record-equaling 20th Premier League title last season. The Reds finished the 2024/25 season 10 points clear of Arsenal, with 86 goals being scored by the Reds and 41 goals conceded. Arne Slot's side has already invested £260 million ($350 million) in Florian Wirtz (Bayer Leverkusen), Hugo Ekitike (Eintracht Frankfurt), Milos Kerkez (Bournemouth), and Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen). Despite these acquisitions, the departures of Luis Diaz (Bayern Munich) and Darwin Nunez (Al Hilal) have left gaps in their attacking lineup. They are now expected to make a renewed attempt to sign Alexander Isak, though Newcastle is reportedly demanding a record-breaking British transfer fee for the Swedish striker.

Mikel Arteta's Arsenal has been competitive in each of the past three Premier League seasons, finishing as runner-up in each of the seasons. The Gunners will be hoping to put to bed their three second-place finishes in a row, having made significant signings in the transfer windows. Viktor Gyokeres is the headline news, given Arsenal hasn't signed a proper goalscoring No. 9 since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seven and a half years ago. The Swedish striker lit up Europe last season, notching 39 goals from 33 appearances for Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese Primeira Liga. Other arrivals adding to squad depth at the North London side include Spanish international Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Cristhian Mosquera, Noni Madueke, and Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea

Chelsea secured a fourth-place finish in the Premier League last season, ending 15 points behind Liverpool. Despite the gap, they clinched a Champions League spot under Enzo Maresca in his second year as manager. The London club made history by becoming the first team to win all five major European club trophies, claiming the Europa Conference League title in the 2024/25 season. Their remarkable journey continued with a stunning triumph over European champions Paris Saint-Germain in the FIFA Club World Cup last month, earning them the title of World Champions in the USA. Their transfer policy of investing heavily in scores of young prospects is beginning to bear fruit. Enzo Maresca added more squad depth to their formidable team with Joao Pedro making an instant impact with three goals in three games at the Club World Cup after a £55 million move from Brighton. Liam Delap also joined Chelsea from Ipswich Town after impressing in the Premier League last season and scored his first goal for the Blues in the win over ES Tunis at the FIFA Club World Cup. Other signings include Estevao (Palmeiras), Mamadou Sarr, Jamie Gittens, and Dario Essugo.

Premier League 2025/26 Top Six Predictions

Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City, and Arsenal are heavily favored to secure top-six finishes, with betting odds reflecting a 93.4% implied probability. The top four positions appear firmly in place, with Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, and Chelsea leading the pack. Considering Manchester United not playing in European competitions this season and also splashing huge cash on big names in attack, with Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Šeško all heading to Old Trafford, we think they will improve their form under Amorim and finish in the top six. Betting markets priced United to finish in the top six at 55.6% implied probability. Aston Villa finished sixth last season after a loss to Manchester United on the final day, with the result seeing them miss out on Champions League football. They have been relatively quiet in the transfer market, but we think they have a good chance of finishing the season strong.
