Bharti Airtel has launched a mobile radio streaming service on its network in co-operation with FM radio station Radio Mirchi.

The service, Mirchi Mobile, allows users to listen to Mirchi radio stations from anywhere in India via their phones. The fee of 10 rupees ($0.23) per week allows up to 100 minutes of listening time each week.

Airtel said the service will be rolled out initially in Delhi and Mumbai, with a national launch following “shortly.”

“Airtel is committed to continue delivering innovative offerings that enhance our customer’s experience on their mobile phones,” Airtel marketing director Shireesh Joshi said.

Mirchi Mobile uses mobile streaming technology from local vendor Spice Digital, which is mainly known for its music-on-demand portfolio.
