Advanced Info Services has launched a service that enables its prepaid customers to take control of their mobile accounts.

The service, YOU Mobile, is powered by Veris Billing real-time convergent charging and billing from AsiaInfo, the vendor said.

Integrated into the AIS network, YOU Mobile enables users to mix and match voice and data resources according to their individual needs, providing the ability to transform users’ remaining/spare voice minutes into available data for usage, and vice versa, in real time.

“This innovative, user-friendly and personalized self-service mobile app has raised the bar for a bespoke customer experience in the telecoms industry,” said Yaw Yee, general manager for Southeast Asia at AsiaInfo. “It has totally redefined customer self-empowerment.”

Veris Billing has been successfully integrated into the networks of many operators worldwide. It supports both proprietary and standards-based integration points out-of-the-box, and provides a standard set of web services to enable existing legacy systems to integrate to it with minimal effort.

The real-time self-service applications took AIS and AsiaInfo three months to implement on top of Veris Billing, with AIS implementing the mobile applications and AsiaInfo configuring the back-end engine and APIs.
