Amazon has launched its Appstore Developer Portal, a new self-service tool that allows developers of mobile applications – particularly Adroid apps – to join its Appstore Developer Program.
The program encourages developers to submit apps for the upcoming launch of the Amazon Appstore for Android.
The appstore will give mobile app developers access to “tens of millions” of active Amazon customers.
Amazon said that with the dramatic growth of the apps space, an Appstore is “a logical next step” for the company.
