China’s three mobile carriers will drive a 27.7% surge in spending on wireless infrastructure equipment in the country, which will reach $6.3 billion in 2009, according to iSuppli Corp.

The carriers’ massive investment will push up the number of 3G subscribers in China to at least 100 million in 2013 from 338,000 in 2008.

iSuppli analyst Will Kong said revenue will continue to decline in the following years as the carriers move beyond the initial deployment stage of their 3G services.
