China Mobile Hong Kong and China Mobile International have signed a fresh strategic cooperation agreement with subsidiaries of China Taiping Insurance Group to collaborate on a number of business initiatives.

China Taiping subsidiaries China Taiping Insurance (HK), Taiping Financial Holdings and China Taiping Life Insurance (HK) have agreed to work with China Mobile in areas including customer acquisition, business development and enterprise information management.

In a statement announcing the collaboration, the companies said the collaboration between the state-backed enterprises will complement each others' strengths in areas including fintech, AI, healthcare and the development of the Greater Bay Area initiative.

China Mobile and China Taiping have been strategic partners since 2014, and are now extending this collaboration further.

During an announcement ceremony, China Taiping Insurance Group chairman Wang Bin said the partnership will support the company's strategy of “building a new Taiping in three years' time”.

China Taiping hopes to further its cooperation with China Mobile in technology, healthcare and internationalization on an expanded horizon, he said.
