Chunghwa Telecom today announced an agreement with Yahoo! to make oneSearch the default mobile search service on its \'emome\' portal.

The co-branded Yahoo! oneSearch will provide Chunghwa subscribers with targeted search information on a wide range of topics, covering everything from news and financial information to weather conditions and lottery results. oneSearch will also display relevant ringtones, games and other content from Chunghwa Telecom\'s emome portal within search results.

\'Providing an innovative search service that delivers answers to our savvy users is exactly what we wanted,\' said Jen-hon Lin, VP of Chunghwa\'s Mobile Business Group.

\'We believe the service can stimulate growth of mobile search market in Taiwan.\'

Yahoo! yesterday also expanded the reach of Yahoo! Mobile by launching the service in nine additional countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Australia.

Yahoo! Mobile is now offered in 17 countries worldwide and seven markets in Asia and can be used on more than 400 devices.

Yahoo! developed a traditional Chinese language version for Taiwan and previously a local Bahasa language version in Indonesia.

Yahoo! Mobile for the web and iPhone app debuted across eight countries in April.
