IT, consulting and BPO provider Cognizant has established a new office in Hong Kong to expand its existing operations in Greater China.

Cognizant currently employs more than 300 professionals in Hong Kong and delivers a range of services across digital business, operations and systems to more than 30 companies in eight sectors.

The new office will allow Cognizant to expand its operations in the market while giving the company a deeper foothold into Greater China and providing time zone benefits to its roster of companies in the wider APAC region.

“We continue to steadily grow our presence and investment in Hong Kong,” Cognizant APAC head Jayajyoti Sengupta said.

“Hong Kong's booming information and communication technology sector is among the world's most advanced.... Our expansion in Hong Kong underscores our confidence in the ability of the city's talent pool to help our clients win in today's technology- and data-intensive world.”

As part of its commitment to Hong Kong, Cognizant runs a graduate recruitment program to hire entry-level technical and managerial talent from institutions including HKU, CUHK and CityU.

“We congratulate Cognizant on the inauguration of its new office in Hong Kong," BOC International Holdings CIO Gary Ma commented.

“Over the past few years, Cognizant has been providing us with a range of technology services. We look forward to a continuing and collaborative partnership."
