Cyan has launched a new reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexer (ROADM) unit with a maximum of 40 channels of wavelength selectable switching (WSS), which can be used in the Cyan Z-Series platforms.

The Z-Series WSS-402 unit simplifies the upgrade of fiber transport routes for a maximum capacity of 400 Gbps, for every fiber with optional tunable or fixed optics, and simple plug and play units.

Service providers have an option of adding a maximum of 40 channels of DWDM with card additions.

The module has an associated Cyan AWG-40 that offers easy optical interconnect access for a maximum of 40 wavelengths of insert and drop traffic.
