Equinix has partnered Switzerland-based IaaS provider CloudSigma in a deal that will see the latter's enterprise-class hybrid cloud servers and public hosting solutions deployed in Equinix's Zurich International Business Exchange (IBX) and Washington (DC6) data center.

The partnership marks the first phrase in a targeted roll out in several markets that Equinix operates in. Equinix runs more than 90 IBX data centers in 31 markets.

Under the agreement, the two companies will jointly sell cloud and data center services to the enterprise and government sectors.

Equinix's global platform of carrier-neutral data center services and direct connect private line virtual LANs extending into CloudSigma solutions will enable Equinix's 4000+ customers to build hybrid cloud architectures incorporating public, private and legacy components.

CloudSigma also hopes to develop new PaaS and SaaS offerings for Equinix's customers.
