Mobile app downloads to hit 6 billion in 2010

Mobile application downloads will reach just under 6 billion this year, more than double the estimated 2.4 billion in 2009, say analysts at ABI Research. The iPhone is expected to be the leading platform, with a database of over 125,000 applications offering niche and localized content.

Everton strikes Indian mobile deal

Everton Football Club has made a mobile phone deal in India to meet the needs of an emerging fan base for ringtones, wallpapers and videos of their favorite players. The contract with Indiatimes has been agreed via the Club’s licensed mobile content provider in Asia, Total Sport Asia.
