China Telecom says it will team up with Yicha.cn to launch mobile search service for personal handy-phone system users. China Telecom, which owns 65 million PHS users, said the move is believed to be vital for China Telecom's foray into the coming 3G market.

Alcatel-Lucent reports that its OmniPCX Enterprise solution has successfully been deployed at Joint StockCompany Sokolov-Sarbai Mining Production Association, an extraction and processing of iron ore headquartered in Kazakhstan. The Alcatel-Lucent's solution adds in-office mobile functionality.

AOL co-founder Steve Case has launched a new web site to help college students deal with being apart from their families and handle depression. Case added a section to health web site RevolutionHealth.com called 'College Health Center' that provides information on mental and sexual health, relationships, healthy lifestyle choices and personal safety.
