Philippine carrier Globe Telecom says it is stepping up its enterprise and consumer businesses following the creation by the company of a new position - deputy chief executive officer.

Sri Lanka Telecom launches IPTV services in the country with a target of reaching 7,000 customers by year end. The carrier is an affiliate of Malaysia's UT group.

ZTE releases the U990, a high-end TD intelligence handset with HSDPA function and highest downstream speed of 2.8 Mbps. The U990 is ZTE's first TD/EDGE dual-mode and single-standby mobile phone based on Window Mobile operating system.
