Thailand’s TOT may postpone its auction for 3G expansion after claims of unfair treatment by bidders; the country’s ICT minister has said he could not guarantee the auction would take place on Friday as planned.

India’s Idea Cellular has posted a 43% rise in Q3 net profit for last year, due to subscriber gain and the stabilizing of mobile tariffs. The firm posted a net income of 2.43 billion rupees ($52.6 million).

Taiwan’s ChungHwa Telecom has launched the Blackberry Torch 9800 in conjunction with RIM and Vodafone. Vodafone will provide Spend Manager and Vodafone Global Enterprise Central Ordering (VGECO) services for enterprises operating in Taiwan.

A report from Beijing-based Analysys International has said mobile phone sales in China grew 57% in 2010 to more than 246 million units, due to the popularity of Internet and television enabled devices.

Pakistan’s Telecommunications Authority has announced that the country hit its 100 millionth subscriber mark at the end of last year.
