Fujitsu Laboratories has developed a platform technology for infrastructure as a service (IaaS), which allows on-demand physical servers configure to users’ needs in minutes.

Currently, physical IaaS, or physical server-hosting services, which provides physical servers installed in a data center, requires the service operator to manually install and configure servers upon the customers’ requests, leading to a lag time of several days between an order for new servers is made and the actual time for the servers to go online.

The new technology, touted as the first of its kind in the world, makes use of another Fujitsu Laboratories innovation "Resource Pool Architecture", which enables the on-demand configuration of the physical servers and instant response to customer orders.

This technology equips the customers the ability to quickly bring high-performance physical servers online and instantly change hardware configurations, enabling greater flexibility in changing server numbers or the performance of individual servers to respond to changes in application loads.
