Dairy Farm supermarkets including Wellcome, Market Place by Jasons, 3hreesixty and Oliver’s the Delicatessen will accept Visa Express payment service at 23 outlets across Hong Kong.

According to the payments vendor the Visa Express Lane checkout aisles will provide shoppers with enhanced payment speed at supermarket checkout lanes by incorporating the easy-to-use and secure Visa contactless payment solution into the express checkout process for both card and mobile payments.

“Contactless payments, where you simply tap to pay with a contactless-enabled card, mobile or wearable device at a contactless-enabled checkout terminal, are gaining strong momentum across the globe,” Visa country manager for Hong Kong and Macau Caroline Ada said.

“Visa is committed to driving contactless payments in Hong Kong. Through co-operation with our bank and merchant partners, we are enabling new ways for customers to pay in their everyday lives.”

Visa data shows that as of June this year, over four million Visa contactless cards have been issued, while more than one million Visa digital accounts have been enabled on mobile payments in Hong Kong. In addition, one in three face-to-face Visa transactions are contactless.
