Hong Kong's HKBN Enterprise Solutions (HKBNES) has launched a new special offer seeking to poach customers from rival Wharf T&T.

Existing Wharf T&T corporate customers will be able to subscribe to corresponding services with HKBNES at a monthly discount of up to 50% for 24 months, the company said.

The offer is available to subscribers of Wharf T&T’s business broadband, dedicated internet access, China dedicated internet access, metro Ethernet, data center, cloud voice and business voice services.

“Through this offer, we’re helping Wharf T&T customers cost cut their way to success by switching to use our great portfolio of advanced solutions. As we had acquired New World Telecom at a fraction of replacement costs, we can profitably sustain below replacement cost price points,” HKBN Group COO Billy Yeung said.

“Hence, we’ve even placed the customer service hotlines of both Wharf T&T and HKBNES in our advertisements, to enable customers to easily compare both our prices and to get huge savings for their businesses, no matter if they are large enterprises or SMEs.”

Wharf T&T was acquired by private equity groups MBK Partners and TPG Capital late last year for HK$9.5 billion ($1.2 billion).

The same private equity consortium is reportedly considering bidding for Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings' (HTHKH) fixed line unit Hutchison Global Communications (HGC), with HKBN said to be preparing its own bid.
