Hong Kong operator HKT has introduced a SIM-based licensing offering from BlackBerry for enterprise customers of its mobile brand 1O1O.

HKT's 1O1O is now offering Blackberry's Enhanced SIM-Based Licensing (ESBL) suite, allowing customers to integrate BlackBerry's enterprise mobility management product BES12 into their monthly bills.

The operator will resell licenses for BES12 as a bundled offer with airtime and a data plan. ESBL will also integrate with 1O1O's carrier provisioning systems to identify a customer's license status.

BES12 supports the iOS, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBery 10 mobile operating systems. It includes EMM capapabilities that can manage enterprise mobility deployment models including BYOD, corporate-owned personally enabled (COPE) and corporate-owned business only (COBO).

Hong Kong enterprise customers will also be able to subscribe to a bundle of enterprise communications products covering mobile collaboration, enhanced BBM security and 24x7 customer support.

“1O1O is delighted to be the first BlackBerry partner in Hong Kong to extend the benefits of Enhanced SIM-Based Licensing to our corporate customers,” HKT managing director commercial Tom Chan said.

“This new offering means 1O1O can become the one-stop service provider for customers buying devices, data plans and enterprise mobility software and services – and that we can offer the convenience of one monthly bill irrespective of what service the customer is purchasing.”
