Quickplay said its managed video platform is powering HOOQ – Asia’s new OTT service from Singtel, Sony Pictures Television and Warner Bros. Entertainment.

HOOQ, already launched in the Philippines, delivers Hollywood blockbusters, as well as local movies and programs, to customers anytime, anywhere by enabling viewers to stream and download on their device of choice.

The service will be rolled out progressively to other countries in Singtel Group’s Asian footprint, including Indonesia, India and Thailand.

Quickplay is providing HOOQ with a comprehensive multi-partner turnkey solution that enables service and content providers to deliver a superior unified viewing experience in the home and on the go.

Through a partnership with Evergent, Quickplay is also providing a feature that lets HOOQ tap on Singtel Group’s billing relationships across Asia to offer consumers a range of payment options such as mobile post-pay contracts and pre-paid credits.

This will help to make HOOQ more accessible in emerging markets where credit card ownership is limited.
