Indosat has expanded its strategic partnership with CSG International to include comprehensive wholesale services.

Under the terms of the new agreement, CSG will enable Indosat to consolidate wholesale business and settlement operations using CSG Interconnect and CSG Route.

CSG said the new wholesale settlement solutions will become Indosat’s convergent settlement platform for fixed, IDD, cellular, and content offerings.

The solutions will enable the automation of rate sheets to eliminate data entry discrepancies, reconcile invoices and event detail records, boost revenue assurance, and support off-the-shelf integration to Indosat’s existing financial systems, the vendor added.

“We actively seek partners that can reduce our operational overhead, streamline our business operations, and allow us to adapt quickly to the changes and challenges associated with growth in the digital economy,” said Fadzri Sentosa, director and chief wholesale & enterprise officer at Indosat.

“CSG Interconnect supports our wholesale transformation program with pre-packaged integration into our existing systems, which allows us to continue to offer the next-generation of wholesale products and services our valued customers expect.

The announcement comes days after Indosat, the second largest telecom operator in Indonesia, swung back to 19.3 million profit in 1H14.

In a separate announcement, Bangladesh mobile operator Robi Axiata has signed another major upgrade and expansion deal with Tango Telecom to increase the operator’s capacity to handle the significant uptake for mobile data services in its network.

The deal is the second expansion order received from Robi Axiata since Tango Telecom’s Policy Control solution went live in November 2013.

Tango Telecom said its solution enables the operator to rapidly create and launch highly innovative mobile data plans and promotions such as tiered service level packages, zero-rating, social media usage, volume and time-based quotas, pay-per-use packages such as bandwidth on demand.

The operator’s marketing team can now create and implement all mobile data plans and promotions in-house, revising existing plans and launching new plans daily in response to market demands. This reduces the time to market of new plans and promotions from months to hours, the vendor added.

Robi Axiata CTO A.K.M. Morshed said the upgrade allows Robi Axiata to launch more than 400 data plans in response to its subscribers’ increasing appetite for data services.

“We have increased our data revenues and our average data usage per subscriber. We are also seeing an impressive uptake on new data plans and promotions because we can now offer the most innovative subscriber-centric data services on the market,” Morshed explained.

“Tango Telecom’s Policy Controller has given us an important and considerable competitive advantage and we are continuing to see momentous growth in mobile data usage and revenues.”
