PCCW Global and the corporate division of Philippines operator PLDT have teamed up to jointly provide IP VPN services to enterprise customers.

The companies have signed an international IP VPN network-to-network interconnection agreement.

The deal will grant PLDT access to PCCW Global's network footprint, and allow it to shorten the lead time for setting up connectivity for enterprise customers, the operators announced.

In exchange, PCCW Global said it will be able to enhance its local coverage in the Philippines, and to create more flexibility in its offerings for the South Asian market and elsewhere.

This deal marks the latest collaboration initiative involving PCCW Global and other APAC-based operators. Last month the company signed a major IPX peering agreement with Tata Communications.

In January, PCCW Global also agreed to team up with Vietnam's VNPT to explore new business opportunities in the SEA market.
