PCCW Solutions, the IT services subsidiary of PCCW, yesterday opens its cloud data center in Kwai Chung, Hong Kong, and launched an incubation program to support software development.
Called the Powerb@se MCX10 Data Center, the newly launched Kwai Chung data center is the 10th data center facility for PCCW Solutions in Hong Kong and mainland China. MCX10 is a carrier- and cloud-neutral data center. It covers a total floor space of 202,000 sq ft, with a capacity of over 3,000 racks, and a service level of 99.995% uptime.
The facility is certified with Uptime Institute Tier-III, LEED Platinum, ISO 27001 (info-security management), ISO 20000 (IT service management), ISO 9001 (quality management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), and CMMI-SW Level 5 (software engineering).
Cloud hub
Backed by PCCW Solutions' data center network in Hong Kong and backbone connectivity, enterprise users can deploy MCX10 as a disaster recovery site, a business resumption center or a cloud-based disaster recovery site, as well as a hosting and co-location facility.
Touted as a "cloud hub," MCX10 will support a range of cloud services range from infrastructure, platform, software, content to process. The cloud services are offered by PCCW Solutions and its technology partners, including BMC, CommVault, NetApp, Oracle, Palo Alto Networks, SAP and VMware.
