Singapore's SingTel has launched a new enterprise service it claims can help secure and manage employees' mobile devices regardless of location.

The cloud-based app, the SingTel Mobility Device Manager (MDM), has been launched in collaboration with MDM service provider MobileIron.

SingTel said the service is designed to tackle issues arising from the growing trend of companies allowing employees to use their own mobile devices for work.

The service includes security policy and governance as well as usage policy management for app deployment, including the ability to distribute apps in-house and track which apps are installed on an employee's device.

It is compatible with OS platforms including iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone, Symbian and Windows Mobile. The service is controlled via a web portal.

The cloud is a high priority for SingTel, with the company aiming to grow its income from cloud services at a CAGR of 50% to 70% over the next three years.

The company currently serves around 150,000 users across 800 businesses with its portfolio of cloud services.
