SingTel Group has reported an 11% increase in net profit for the third quarter to S$970 million ($775.8 million), on the back of gains in Singapore, Australia and the operator's regional mobile associates.

Group revenue grew 4% to S$4.43 billion, with group consumer revenue up 4% and underlying group enterprise revenue growing 3%.

Consumer revenue from SingTel's domestic Singapore market grew 7%, while consumer revenue from Australian wholly-owned subsidiary Optus increased 7%.

Pre-tax earnings from SingTel's regional mobile associates meanwhile increased 27.1% to S$646 million, led by gains at India's Bharti Airtel and Indonesia's Telkomsel.

The group's combined mobile customer base increased 9% year-on-year to 543 million. Optus added 96,000 customers over the same period.

Group digital life revenue more than doubled on the back of SingTel's investments in digital marketing companies Adconion and Kontera.

The company maintained its guidance for the full financial year ending in March of glat revenue from core businesses, a mid-single digit gain in mobile revenue from Singapore and a low single digit gain in mobile revenue from Australia.

Ordinary dividends from SingTel's regional mobile associates are expected to reach around S$1.0 billion.
