SK Telecom is today hosting a developer forum dedicated to discussing 5G technologies and providing a foundation for building the 5G ecosystem.
The South Korean operator's latest T Dev forum has attracted over 400 participants including developers, start-ups, venture companies, academic experts and global ICT companies.
Representatives from Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, Qualcomm, Intel and HP will all deliver keynote speeches or take part in panel discussions covering the future of 5G.
SK Telecom will also use the event to showcase its 5G robot, which will be able to move in real-time in accordance to human movements over a 5G-enabled connected network. The operator first showed off its 5G robot at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February.
Other topics include the ability to provide 5G services including 3D video holograms, as well as public-private co-operation in 5G development.
SK Telecom CEO Jang Dong-Hyuan will deliver the opening remarks for the forum at 1:30pm South Korean time, and the event will run until 5:40pm.
