Globe Telecom announces strategic appointments of senior executives

Philippines mobile carrier Globe Telecom has announced strategic appointments of four key senior executives, with the creation of some new roles, in a bid to strengthen its position in the market and align its operations on global trends.

Gil B. Genio, the company’s chief operation officer for international and business markets, has taken up the newly created role of chief technology and information officer (CTIO).

As CTIO, Genio will be responsible for guiding the overall vision, development and execution of network and technology architecture and strategies, proactively responding to business and market demands. Genio meanwhile will continue to be the company’s chief strategy officer.

As CCO, de Larrazabal will drive the integration and execution of strategies across all commercial units, including marketing, sales and channels, and product development for all segments of business. All core business groups will be consolidated under the CCO, the company said.

Globe has also appointed Rosemarie Maniego-Eala as acting chief finance officer, replacing De Larrazabal. Maniego-Eala also takes up another key position as treasurer and chief risk officer. She joined Globe in 1998 as director for financial planning and analysis. She became president of G-Xchange in 2006 and group head of international business in 2011.
