Telecom Career: Peter Hearl to join Telstra board

Telstra appoints non-executive director

Peter Hearl has joined Telstra as a non-executive director. Hearl assumed his new role on August 15 and he will stand for election by shareholders at Telstra’s next annual general meeting in Brisbane on October 14.

Based in Sydney, Hearl has more than 40 years of corporate experience across industry sectors in North America, Europe and Asia.

Previously, Hearl was chief operating officer of global consumer group Yum! Brands and global president of Pizza Hut. He also served as a non-executive director of Goodman Fielder and Treasury Wine Estates in Australia.

Brocade appoints Gary Denman as senior director for ANZ

Gary Denman has joined Brocade as senior director for Australia and New Zealand (ANZ). In this role, he is responsible for leading the company's operations and go-to-market strategies in the region, with specific focus on accelerating growth in the software networking market in the region. He will be based in Sydney, Australia, and report to Adam Judd, Brocade vice president for Asia Pacific.

Denman, who has more than 20 years of enterprise technology and sales leadership experience, was most recently managing director for ANZ at Polycom. He joined Polycom in 2012 with more than 18 years of sales leadership experience with Microsoft in the UK, Australia and Malaysia, where he was responsible for leading large teams to develop growth plans and customer opportunities.
