Nicholas Tan to take over as CFO at StarHub in July

StarHub said Kwek Buck Chye will retire as the company’s CFO at the end of September. He will be replaced by Nicholas Tan from Singapore Technologies Telemedia (ST Telemedia).

Kwek joined the Singaporean telecom operator in September 2002 as its second CFO. During his tenure, StarHub was publicly listed in 2004 and completed two capital reductions in 2006 and 2007.

Tan will assume his new role in July. He is currently the SVP of corporate planning at ST Telemedia.

Prior to that, Tan was also seconded to ST Telemedia’s former Indonesian subsidiary, PT Indosat, where he served as its CFO for two years from 2002.

Steve Leonard and Jacqueline Poh to join IDA

Singapore telecom regulator the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) has appointed Steve Leonard as executive deputy chairman and Jacqueline Poh as MD.

Current IDA CEO Ronnie Tay will return to the administrative service for another posting.

Both Leonard and Poh will assume their new roles on June 10, the regulator said.

Leonard, who has been serving on the IDA board of directors since 2009, will have executive leadership responsibility for IDA as the new deputy chairman. He will focus primarily on industry promotion and development.
