Tellabs has entirely renewed its Tellabs mobile backhaul solutions to simplify the migration to LTE and LTE-Advanced.

About half of the 160 customers who use the solutions plan to migrate to LTE and LTE-A over the next few years, the company said.

The renewed portfolio offers a simple evolution path to LTE and LTE-A, without a forklift upgrade, and lower cost per bit by up to 80% in Ethernet deployments.

It also promises up to 10 Gbps mobile backhaul speeds to cell sites, and includes multiple built-in synchronization and timing synchronization schemes for LTE.
