Tony Tai named GM of IBM Hong Kong

IBM has appointed Tony Tai as general manager for IBM China/Hong Kong, effective immediately.

He will oversee IBM’s business operations and strategic development in Hong Kong. Tai succeeds Dominic Tong, who has assumed the role of vice president, systems and technology group, IBM Greater China Group.

Prior to his new role, Tai was regional general manager, east and central China in the past five years, based in Shanghai. He was director of marketing for IBM Greater China Group from 2001 to 2005.

Tong, in his new role, will be responsible for the strategic direction and growth of the systems business for China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. He will be based in Beijing.
