Thailand’s True has selected Huawei to deploy its 3G IP core network as part of the carrier’s plans to upgrade and expand its network.

Huawei will provide its 400G core router line cards for the upgrade.

With the development of 3G services, the country has been experiencing explosive data traffic growth particularly for online video services.

The carrier aims to expand its IP core network’s capacity and evolve its IP core network to a future-oriented network.

“Traffic on the backbone network increases explosively as mobile broadband services and video services develop dramatically,” Huawei president for carrier IP Gai Gang said. “It’s time for the 400G technology to apply to live networks.”
